Gua Sha Facial Treatment

Gua Sha Facial Treatment

As a client undergoing a gua sha facial, you can expect the following:

Introduction and Preparation:

  • The therapist will typically start by explaining the treatment and its benefits.
  • Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed to remove any impurities and makeup.

Choosing Oil or Serum:

  • A light facial oil or serum will be applied to your skin to ensure the gua sha tool can glide easily and avoid irritation.

The Treatment itself:

  • The therapist will use a gua sha tool, which is often made of jade or rose quartz, and massage your face with gentle but firm strokes.
  • The treatment focuses on promoting lymphatic drainage, increasing blood circulation and releasing tension in the facial muscles.
  • There will be a specific technique and direction for the strokes, often from the center of the face out towards the lymph nodes to improve drainage.

Relaxation:

  • The treatment is generally very relaxing, and many clients find it soothing.
  • You can expect a feeling of relaxation and well-being during and after the treatment.

After the Treatment:

  • Your skin may have a slight redness after the treatment due to the increased blood circulation, but this should subside quickly.
  • The therapist can provide advice on skin care after the treatment and recommend how you can continue to care for your skin at home.

Advantages:

  • Expect your skin to look more radiant and lifted.
Many experience a reduction in puffiness and fine lines, as well as improved skin tone and texture.
  • In general, gua sha facials are known to be gentle and non-invasive, making them a popular option for those seeking natural methods of skin care and relaxation.
